We don’t need to tell you it’s been a crazy year, but here is a quick update from the Beck Family.
2020 started in Salt Lake City for us. We were done traveling the country in our RV and wanted to settle down for a few months near family before having our first child Blakely Rose Beck.
Blakely was born on February 15th at 2:03 am and our lives haven’t been the same since.
She is such a great baby and brings enormous amounts of joy into our lives every day. We had planned to go back to Texas in April but good old Covid-19 hit and we decided to wait out the summer in the mountains of Utah. It was nice to have some stability and family around during the initial parental learning curve. Plus the built-in babysitters were great.
Eventually, we felt comfortable traveling and headed back to Arizona in September to pick up our RV and head back to Texas. So we rolled into Temple Texas and are currently staying at an Airbnb while looking for a home to plant some roots. Wish us luck! House hunting is stressful!
Here are a few great moments from the year
Watching Grandpa Rulon spend time with baby Blakely Blow outs are no big deal for baby Watching funny faces Our trip to Park City Falling asleep in the Bumbo First time at the pool Meeting all the cousins Eating Rasberries Spending time at the Carlston Cabin Visiting the Love Aquarium Visiting the Aviary with Lock and Grandma Making a quilt with patching we got from our RV Trip Swimming with Aunt Kathy Making the trip back to Texas with Blakely Finally got to Torchys Tacos
Molly Highlights For 2020
Hands down, becoming a mom.
The day Blakely was born was the happiest day of my life. She is such a great baby and makes being a mommy fun. It’s a great (and scary) feeling knowing she prefers me more than anyone else (Dad being a close second) and that I am the most capable and able to help her. Someone said while I was pregnant “kids are the greatest gift” and I have to agree.
Molly Lowlights For 2020
Postpartum depression is real ya’ll. Isn’t it interesting how the good comes with the bad? I had a great birth and did well recovering physically from labor (except for my joints, they hurt for months. Bodies be crazy). I also experienced postpartum depression which was hard to recognize and accept. Sometimes the emotions of responsibility were too overwhelming. Eventually, things got better and I am starting to feel like my old self again. It’s all about progress right?
Bens Highlights For 2020
Becoming a Dad!
Having Blakely come into our lives is the biggest joy. I love being a Dad and spending time watching her grow. Another highlight for me was living with grandparents in Salt Lake City & Peoria for those first few months so they got to spend time with Blakely as well.
I officially joined an amazing marketing agency called KlientBoost! Working with them full time and building their SEO team.
Last but not least, making it back to Texas with the RV in one piece. Now it’s time to find a home of our own.
Bens lowlights For 2020
Covid… and not being able to see people as much as we wanted. Where ever we go, we try and have a group get together but that whole concept has to be put on hold for a while. Covid has been difficult and kept our plans changing. Fingers crossed 2021 is better for some stability!
Blakely’s Highlights For 2020
So many highlights! Blakely is a happy little girl who’s great at eating and sleeping. She has loved her Johnny jump up, and has figured out how to crawl, and now standing up on furniture. She loves to eat what ever mommy is eating, and is the bell of the ball where ever she goes.
Blakely’s Lowlights For 2020
Last week, Blakely was jumping in the Johnny jump up (a baby contraption that all of us Nyes used as kids that attaches to a door frame) and it broke while she was in it!!! Mom heard the spring recoil and looked over to see a shocked little girl on her hands and knees. She wasn’t hurt, just a little scared.
Please leave us a reply and let us know how you are doing!

So happy for you both……….and Blakely is a beautiful little girl. All the best in 2021 and happy house hunting. Maybe we’ll stop by some time on our way back East, if COVID will allow next year.
