We were really blessed this summer to have so much family come and visit.
Grandpa Rulon!
Blakely LOVES her grandpa Rulon. She calls him Pop-pop. I didn’t get as many pictures as I should have while he was here in May. Every once in a while he gets an assignment from work to come down to Austin and he stayed with us for like a week! We were so excited. He usually gets a hotel but I think Blakely (and the spare bedroom) were enough of a pull to have him stay. We went to the zoo, Magnolia, Heritage Homestead, and just hung out. Blakely is automatically drawn to Grandpa, maybe because he was with her for the first 9 months of her life and was born in his basement. But she always wants to sit on his lap and have him read her stories.
Nana J!
Nana J (Joanna) came into town next. Blakely Loves Nana J, and Nana J can’t get enough of Miss B. We did a lot of the same things as Grandpa Rulon but got more pics.
How did Blakely get such wonderful grandparents? Nana loved the Heritage Homestead and magnolia. We went to the park and walked, and just hung out. It was lovely.
Im to go to Utah!
This time, we packed our bags and headed north to Utah.
Covid restrictions are still in place which makes flying hard from the masks. But we made it.
We celebrated Havens birthday at Sugar House Park, as well as my birthday, went up to the cabin for a few days, and even stayed in Trevor and Corine’s basement before Jackson’s blessing.
Blakely got sick the last few days and was running a fever. She was ok but we did take our first trip to the ER! Exciting times!
Beck Family! Seattle to Texas
In July, David and Cristyann came to visit us all the way from Seattle WA. They were accompanied by their 3 boys. We know it’s not easy traveling with kids so we sure appreciated them coming all this way!
We actually did a lot of kid-focused things and it was really fun. We went to Lake Waco a few times, the zoo, all the way down to Austin for Krause springs, and the Cameron park splash pad.
We love this family so much! Good people.
You might notice Nana J in this picture. She wanted to come as well because there would be so many grandkids in one place. We said it was alright but she would have to sleep in the living room. She didn’t mind at all! We cleaned out the front room closet and that is what she used for all her stuff. It really was a good time together.
August = Downtime
It’s now August and we have had some time to rest from all the travels. It’s been hot and raining but getting back into a routine and focusing on Blakely is nice. We are going to Montana for a wedding near Glacier park which we are excited about.
A house has been an interesting adjustment. Ben and I both love to travel and having a home base is great, but we do miss the adventure of the RV. A time and a season for everything. We are crossing our fingers and looking for a business opportunity to invest in and praying that we can recognize a good one when it comes along.
