June was a beautiful month! We were still up in Huntsville with Trevor and Corine. I LOVE Huntsville. Every time we go there, I want to move there or own a home. When Ben and I got married, I told him I wasn’t ever interested in moving back to Utah. Well… That was before kids and before knowing the beauty of Huntsville. We still don’t love winters but maybe someday…
Trevors has a big backyard with a view of the mountains. A great lawn that you can run around in barefoot, plenty of toys, and a little playground. It’s perfect for kids.
While we were there, the ward had a memorial day celebration so we got to do pancakes. Trevor and Corine are actually the family we put on our trust to take care of our kids if something happens to us. They are wonderful parents and strong in the Gospel.
Grandma Jeanne came up and stayed in the camper while we were there. Lincoln even slept next to her one night! Grandmas are the best.
I should have taken more pictures of the backyard but they did put up a hammock which Blakely loved.
Happy Birthday to Me!
Well, it happened. I turned 40. I actually feel 32 for where I am in life. My hips on the other hand probably feel 40… Anyway, we celebrated with family up in Huntsville. It was really sweet. Corine is a great host and put a lot of effort into making my day special.
After the BBQ and outdoor games, we went inside and looked at family pictures and home videos that Grandpa Rulon put together and has been digitizing.
Our sweet Bronson is such a MVP. He is a joy to anyone that holds him. Last we weighed him he was around 17 pounds and 99% for his height. Probably more now. But was a blessing he is in our family.
Wyoming
We packed everything up and headed to Afton Wyoming for a week. Bens work retreat was in Boseman Montana so he drove the extra 5 hours and stayed there for 3 days while I hung out with the Finch family.
They live next to the mountains and have an incredible view. Micky was best buds with Blakely and they had fun jumping on the tramp and getting in the hot tub together.
We went on a hike up the mountain one day. It was fun. My body has been feeling better and I did a little Ruking (carrying heavy things for an exercise) with Bronson on my front and Blakely on my back.
Getting stronger day by day!
When Ben got back, Suzie (who is an amazing cook) made us some banana cream pudding.
Always a great time with the Finch family.
Home Sweet Home
After Afton, we went and stayed with Trevor for 2 days before heading back home. On this trip we drove a mini van and it was actually really comfortable. The fight home was late at night. Blakely and Bronson were champs. Blakely was so tired at the airport it was almost funny. We got back home and didn’t even change her out of her clothes. Just put her in Bed.
We do love Waco, and being back is a real treat. We have so many friends here that Blakely always has something to do.
We have a weekly kids club that Blakely will go to with her friends Neils, Lucy, Liam, Jo and Elise. This is them playing in the trees outside of the church with is also a weekly occurrence.
I have been in cleaning mode! We are putting together Bronsons room. So far, that has been the guest room as well as the “stash everything we don’t know what to do with” room. So every week I am taking a few boxes of stuff to goodwill.
Bronson Update
This little boy is so wonderful. An easy going baby is so nice when you have toddler. Blakey is doing great, don’t get me wrong, it developmentally she is having stronger emotions and needs more from Mom and Dad.
Bronson is turning over and grabbing things! I believe he is teething and it’ wont be long till we see a tooth coming through. He loves to pull on hair, and put things in his mouth. He loves to swim which makes sense because he was born in the water. He will just float there. I believe he is going to have blue eyes like his dad. He is definitely more blonde than we imagined he would be! We love this little boy so much and are grateful he is in our family. His laugh will bring a smile to anyones face.
AC Issues
Well, the ups come with the down right? We got home and our AC was having issues. It ran all the time and was having a hard time getting lower than 83. So we called around and found someone who could come out that night. Well, this guy had raving reviews on Google so I thought he was a safe bet… Looking back I am not so sure. He worked on the AC all morning and we paid him $1500. He stood over Ben while he pulled up zelle to pay him. Nightfall came and it still wasn’t working. He removed one part and put in an older one which he said would still work. Well that was on Tuesday and it was still having issues. To make matters worse, Blakely wasn’t feeling well.
So I have a toddler who has a fever and all she wants to do is sit on my lap, a baby who needs to be fed every few hours and a hot house which I can’t leave. I was super mad.
This is me trying to self regulate when everything was at it’s peak.
I put this picture in here to show you that not everything is awesome. We go through hard times too.
Long story short, it finally got resolved on Saturday. By then I was at my wits end and needed to get out of the house. We went to a friends pool and the community was having a pool party so we just joined in and enjoyed some hotdogs and free soda. Ben even played in the tug-a-war game that had an annoyingly small rope for 8 grown men to pull on.
More 4th of July fun coming up in the next post!
