Finally made it through the first trimester. Everyone says their pregnancies are so different. I had a hard time really believing that, but it’s true. Every pregnancy is different. Twins came with more extreme symptoms like nausea, burping, tiredness etc. However, since Bronson was still napping 3 hours a day I got some good rest in there.
I have major mom guilt when I turn on the TV but during the second trimester Bronson started to fight the naps. NO!!!! The day those naps drop is a hard day. I tried as long as I could but he was done with them. I talked with my friend Kailene about what to do. I wanted to wait until the 3rd trimester to start asking my friends for help. The hours between 3-5 are the hardest for me because Im tried, need some time for myself and need to rest before cleaning up, making dinner, cleaning up again and then bedtime routine. She basically said “don’t feel bad about letting them watch a show in the afternoon, it’s survival right now and it’s only for a short time.
So we started a different routine. We implemented quiet time with a timer. Started off about 15 minutes, then went to 25, then 35, and now we do around a 45 minute quiet time everyday. I tell Ben when I started the timer and he listens for it to beep, then starts Bronson on a show. This allows me to lay down nap/rest for a bit before getting into the afternoon/night shift. I fell off the band wagon with homeschool which I do want to keep up before he starts Pre-K in the fall. Fingers crossed I can pick it back up again.
Other than that, it’s business as usual. I did start Bronson in Swim and he absolutely loves it. He likes wearing his goggles on his forehead as more of an accessory than goggles but it’s fine. As long as he is loving it.

February Gender Reveal
A good friend of ours in the ward always does a root beer tasteing party for new years. Well, since everyone had the flu, they cancelled. Later as we were talking she said we should collaborate for a gender reveal party. I actually really loved that idea so we did it!
I have had impressions about both a boy and a girl for a long time and was really nervous about the results. I kept telling myself and we would be over the moon with any combination. We have the best kids! But in my heart I really felt it was a boy and a girl. So around 21 weeks we went in for the ultrasoun and guess what!
BOY AND A GIRL!
Ah! it was such a cool feeling. It felt like they were there in the room and said “See Mom! We have been here the whole time.”
I know it was a little lame knowing genders before a gender reveal party but I was pretty emotional about the whole thing and didn’ t want to have my reaction so public.
My good friend Kailene made the cake and the layers are for baby A and baby B. So pink AND blue!

So I feel like I am getting everything I wanted…
It’s been a really hard few years but these twins are such a miricle. We are so excited for them to join our family.
Everything Else
So life has gone on, and now we find ourselves in April! Our routine has worked well and since 3rd trimester has started, ive been reaching out to friends and scheduling play dates. It’s worked well beause Bronson is so incredibly social. Here are a few pics of life.

This kid… he is so fun. He loves to make people laugh, super curious, and is a great eater. We are so lucky to be his parents.
Birth Plans
As you know, our last two were very successful homebirths. I initially thought I would work with the midwife as long as I could, then transfer to the hospital but the more I researched the hospital, the more uneasy I felt. I know this is controvercial but I really did my research. I have my system and I know I can do natural birth so we are planning again for a home birth. Im currently 31 weeks along and the babies are measuring 3.3-3.5 lbs so everything is looking good and on course. I have been praying that they will be head down and they have both been head down for over a month! Winning!
So we are just hanging on and doing our best until these twins come along. I need to make it past 36 weeks in order to keep them out of the NICU. We also have some family and friends coming into town to help so we are in good hands.
