Well… Theres a pandemic going on…
Our original plan was to head back down to Texas April 1st but there seems to have been a pandemic outbreak and not really safe to travel. Ben and I went through a lot of pros and cons for when to leave and we decided to stay through the summer. The RV park we were most interested in sold so there isn’t a rush to get back. AND the summer heat in Texas is pretty brutal so we are going to bunker down in Utah for a few more months.
This does come with challenges as we really want to start on our next adventure but we both decided that if we can have patience, it will pay off in the long term.
Updates on Blakely
As you probably know, we had our first child Blakely Rose on February 15th, 2020. She is almost 3 months now and we are more and more in love with her every day.
The first few months have flown by. When they say enjoy every minute, they mean it! Blakely is a great baby. She only cries when she needs something, and sleep between 9-11 hours at night. We always hesitate before telling other parents that because it’s pretty rare to have such a gifted sleeper.
Lately she has been talking a lot, and even rolling over! She can straighten her legs and with some help, stand.
Lately, she has been going every 5 days between bowel movements so when they happen, it’s the blow out of the century. Ben and I laugh and switch off who changes the mess.
Her favorite time of the day is bath time. It’s actually shower time as we don’t have a bath in the basement. She loves the warm water and closes her eyes and just relaxes. We love having her around and watching her grow.
Next Steps?
Great question! We plan to leave early fall and head back to Texas when things have settled down and it’s not so hot. Hopefully we will have somewhere to land. Fingers crossed it’s an RV park, but if not, a nice place in Austin to rent.
